On 1 March 2008 Radomír Věk became the new Executive Director of the CHEMOPETROL production unit within UNIPETROL RPA.
Prague, 3 March 2008 – Radomír Věk, 53, will be primarily in charge of the production unit’s operations, economic management and securing investment activities. The executive director of the Chemopetrol production unit also oversees operations at, for example, Závod chemických výrob (Chemical Productions Plant) and Závod energetika (Power Supply Plant).
Radomír Věk graduated from the Faculty of Fuel and Water Technology of the Institute of Chemical Technology (VŠCHT) in Prague. After completing his studies, he worked until 1995 in various posts in Kaučuk (for example, as director of the accounting and IT department). In 1996 and 1997 he was Unipetrol’s Deputy Chief Financial Officer and in 1997 became Chief Executive Officer of Kaučuk. In 2001 he left the company to assume the post of Chief Executive Officer of Spolana. In 2002 and 2003 he again worked in Unipetrol, where he was entrusted with overseeing the refinery’s transition to a reprocessing regime. From 2003 to January 2008 he again held the position of Chief Executive Officer of Kaučuk (today Synthos).
Radomír Věk has taken part in a number of study stays abroad. He is married with two children. His hobbies include downhill skiing and playing the guitar.
